Oh hey, I haven’t blogged here in a month.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because I’ve been way too busy with life<\/span>!\u00a0 To catch you up, here’s an Executive Summary of Exciting Things that are in my line of sight right now:<\/p>\n

I recently added a form<\/a> that lets people tell me whatever’s on their mind about gender anonymously. Dozens of people pounced on it, and my little blog curation brain exploded. \u00a0 We’ve now got an active talkative community, a constant feed of brilliant thoughts<\/a>, an influx of new profiles<\/a>, and a really nifty twitter stream<\/a>.\u00a0 I have a thousand things to say about all this — on anonymity and gender consciousness — but I’m still trying to collect my thoughts.<\/p>\n

Boffery<\/h3>\n

We showed up in Forbes.com, the Village Voice, a Fox News late show, and — somehow — Italy<\/em>. A thousand people are knocking on our doors for beta invites<\/a> right now, and we’re working our asses off to get the site into shape.\u00a0 We’re also thrilled about bigger questions<\/a> that this buzz has brought up in the communities around us: How do we currently talk about sexuality with our trusted friends, and where we want to take that conversation from here? <\/em><\/p>\n

Ventana<\/h3>\n

Cerado Ventana<\/a> is\u00a0evolving like crazy into something of endless potential.\u00a0 BlogHer’s using it to make search widgets<\/a> (so gorgeous<\/a>!<\/em>), Social Media Club is passing it around as a member directory<\/a>, and, yes, we even got Barack Obama<\/a> on board (well, okay, not him personally<\/em>, but still). Inside scoop: we’re working on a new major iteration of the system which should be live within a month.\u00a0 Expect another major influx of useful widgets and customizable iphone apps as soon as I can set that free.<\/p>\n

Can I Sit With You, Too?<\/h3>\n

Hey, guess what? I’m in a book!\u00a0 And the book happens to be fantastic — it’s full of stories of social awkardness in the grade school social scene… stories that are so absurd you know they have<\/em> to be true.\u00a0 Mine’s called “Will you go out me?”\u00a0 (yep — i’m telling that<\/em> one).\u00a0 The proceeds benefit a special needs program that directly takes care of some of my favorite bloggers’<\/a> kids, so it’s extra-worth the cover price.\u00a0 Go buy it.<\/a> You’ll love it.\u00a0 Swear.<\/p>\n

Mosaics not Mortagages<\/h3>\n

This one’s not mine, but it’s something I want you to know about.\u00a0 My good friend, artist John T. Unger, is using the recession as a reason to get more creative.\u00a0 He’s been designing his dream studio for about a decade and is finally ready to build it, but now can’t get a loan because the banks are too screwed up with the economy.\u00a0 So instead, he’s selling gorgeous high-end custom mosaics<\/a> to raise the funds.\u00a0 If you know anyone who’d be interested in this shinyshiny art, please send them John’s way<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hey hey hey — Queer Open Mic<\/a> is THIS FRIDAY! Come play!\u00a0 We went underground for a little while due to a loss of venue, but now we’re back and better than ever at Modern Times Bookstore<\/a> (it’s perfect!<\/em>). This Friday, we’re featuring Aimee Suzara<\/a>, who rocks my socks. Sign-ups are at 7pm and show’s at 7:30. See you there!<\/p>\n
