Please keep its age in mind while reading.<\/div><p>Robert Scoble has a blog.  Robert Scoble&#8217;s blog is kinda famous.  Robert is kinda famous for his blog.<\/p>\n<p>And by &#8220;kinda famous&#8221; I mean &#8220;very famous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Famous people tend to get sucked into the realm of &#8220;needing to stay famous.&#8221; Sometimes that means getting self-conscious and changing their style.  And sometimes doing that is a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>His <a href=\"http:\/\/scobleizer.com\/2007\/11\/17\/idiocy-and-blogging\/\">post yesterday<\/a> was brilliant:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;If you aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t willing to look like an idiot in public (or, even, prove that you ARE one) you won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be a really great blogger.<\/p>\n<p>Lately I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve found that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve started worrying about LOOKING like an idiot to all of you and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stilted my writing. I started worrying about getting a better \u00e2\u20ac\u0153rank\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (whatever the heck THAT means). And all the hubris-filled-bullpucky that goes along with this stuff.<\/p>\n<p>If you asked me whether I wanted to be invited to an Apple or Google press conference I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d drool on the floor and say \u00e2\u20ac\u0153yes, yes, yes.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Now that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been? I really can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t understand why I thought that at one point. It was a major flaw in my thinking.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been reading a lot of blogs lately. Who are the guys who I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d rather hang out with?<\/p>\n<p>People who prove they are human.<\/p>\n<p>Human beings make mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>Human beings aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t always smart. Even the smartest ones&#8230;&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He goes on, and ends with:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;In the meantime, if you worry about looking like an idiot you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll never take risks and you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll never explore yourself.
